Narrative:
We were advised by den ATC to expect a visibility to runway 17L. ATIS at dfw reported visibility approachs to runways 17L, 17R and 18. Approach also advised us to expect runway 17L. On vectors to 17L, we reported airport in sight. Approach gave us traffic to follow visually. We were unable to see the traffic so approach control issued us 7000' and broke of our approach vectoring us to the east for another visibility to 17L. We again reported the field in sight for the visibility to 17L. Then approach advised us to plan runway 17R, which is served only by a VASI. In the confusion of the changes and readjusting for an approach and landing to another runway, approach never handed us over to tower, therefore we never contacted the tower for a landing clearance.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: ACR LANDED RWY 17R AT DEN WITHOUT CLRNC.
Narrative: WE WERE ADVISED BY DEN ATC TO EXPECT A VIS TO RWY 17L. ATIS AT DFW RPTED VIS APCHS TO RWYS 17L, 17R AND 18. APCH ALSO ADVISED US TO EXPECT RWY 17L. ON VECTORS TO 17L, WE RPTED ARPT IN SIGHT. APCH GAVE US TFC TO FOLLOW VISUALLY. WE WERE UNABLE TO SEE THE TFC SO APCH CTL ISSUED US 7000' AND BROKE OF OUR APCH VECTORING US TO THE E FOR ANOTHER VIS TO 17L. WE AGAIN RPTED THE FIELD IN SIGHT FOR THE VIS TO 17L. THEN APCH ADVISED US TO PLAN RWY 17R, WHICH IS SERVED ONLY BY A VASI. IN THE CONFUSION OF THE CHANGES AND READJUSTING FOR AN APCH AND LNDG TO ANOTHER RWY, APCH NEVER HANDED US OVER TO TWR, THEREFORE WE NEVER CONTACTED THE TWR FOR A LNDG CLRNC.
