Narrative:
Departure from ord while setting climb power, #1 engine froze at approximately 80% N1. Could not increase or decrease power by throttle movement. Returned to ord and made a precautionary landing. After landing I shut down #1 engine. ATC was very helpful in getting us back into ord as quickly as they could.

Narrative: DEP FROM ORD WHILE SETTING CLB PWR, #1 ENG FROZE AT APPROX 80% N1. COULD NOT INCREASE OR DECREASE PWR BY THROTTLE MOVEMENT. RETURNED TO ORD AND MADE A PRECAUTIONARY LNDG. AFTER LNDG I SHUT DOWN #1 ENG. ATC WAS VERY HELPFUL IN GETTING US BACK INTO ORD AS QUICKLY AS THEY COULD.
