Narrative:
I was flying solo during a training flight. I was in the area of college place, wa. I made the decision to make 1 or 2 lndgs at martin field, located in college place. I was flying out of walla walla city-county airport, in walla walla, wa. I made the 2 lndgs west/O incident. However, upon returning to walla walla city-county airport, I was informed by my instrument that martin field is closed, and that I needed an endorsement in my log book to land at any other location than walla walla airport. I did not know that martin field was closed because there were no such markings on the runway. I had also forgotten that the far's forbid such lndgs unless endorsed by my instrument. I feel that if more efforts were taken to inform pilots of closed airfields, this problem can be averted to a great degree in the future.

Title: SPI LANDS AT CLOSED ARPT.
Narrative: I WAS FLYING SOLO DURING A TRNING FLT. I WAS IN THE AREA OF COLLEGE PLACE, WA. I MADE THE DECISION TO MAKE 1 OR 2 LNDGS AT MARTIN FIELD, LOCATED IN COLLEGE PLACE. I WAS FLYING OUT OF WALLA WALLA CITY-COUNTY ARPT, IN WALLA WALLA, WA. I MADE THE 2 LNDGS W/O INCIDENT. HOWEVER, UPON RETURNING TO WALLA WALLA CITY-COUNTY ARPT, I WAS INFORMED BY MY INSTR THAT MARTIN FIELD IS CLOSED, AND THAT I NEEDED AN ENDORSEMENT IN MY LOG BOOK TO LAND AT ANY OTHER LOCATION THAN WALLA WALLA ARPT. I DID NOT KNOW THAT MARTIN FIELD WAS CLOSED BECAUSE THERE WERE NO SUCH MARKINGS ON THE RWY. I HAD ALSO FORGOTTEN THAT THE FAR'S FORBID SUCH LNDGS UNLESS ENDORSED BY MY INSTR. I FEEL THAT IF MORE EFFORTS WERE TAKEN TO INFORM PLTS OF CLOSED AIRFIELDS, THIS PROB CAN BE AVERTED TO A GREAT DEGREE IN THE FUTURE.
