Narrative:
Working with new york center I was just north of lrp at FL22.0 and was cleared to 10000'. At 16100' cleared to 10000' and was read back as such in previous clearance. Ny center then said I was cleared to 17000' not 10000' turn right to 290 degree heading and level at 15000'. We complied and were returned direct to roberts X. We were then cleared to roberts X at 10000' 250 KTS. The rest of the flight was uneventful. The original clearance to 10000' was read back 'cleared to 10000'.' no readback or affirmation came from ny center. My copilot overhead all xmissions and also believes my clearance was to 10000'.
