Narrative:

It was my leg to fly from santa rosa to lax. We were on a right downwind when we were told to expect a visibility approach to 24R. Approach control advised us to follow an air carrier. Jet that was landing on the 24L runway. The WX conditions were hazy, most of my attention was diverted to keep the air carrier jet in sight, I inadvertently overshot the 24's, and I was halfway between runway 25R and 24L. The tower and my captain said nothing about the error. I then asked my captain if we were cleared to land on 25R instead of 24R. My captain said we were cleared to land on 25R. I said to confirm that. My captain called the tower and the controller cleared us to land on 24R. I then moved the aircraft over to the right and landed on 24R. There was no traffic conflict and the tower said nothing more about the event. After we landed, I asked my captain if he thought we were cleared to land on 25R. He said that he thought we were lined up for 24R, and when I asked him if we were cleared to land, he then saw I was lined up for 24R, and thought we had been assigned 25R to land on. On visibility approachs, it is not unusual to be assigned to land on 24 runways and switched to land on the 25 runways. The corrective action we took was to confirm with the tower the correct assigned runway.

Title: COMMUTER LTT TRACK HEADING DEVIATION WHILE FLYING STADIUM VISUAL TO RWY 24R AT LAX.

Narrative: IT WAS MY LEG TO FLY FROM SANTA ROSA TO LAX. WE WERE ON A RIGHT DOWNWIND WHEN WE WERE TOLD TO EXPECT A VIS APCH TO 24R. APCH CTL ADVISED US TO FOLLOW AN ACR. JET THAT WAS LNDG ON THE 24L RWY. THE WX CONDITIONS WERE HAZY, MOST OF MY ATTN WAS DIVERTED TO KEEP THE ACR JET IN SIGHT, I INADVERTENTLY OVERSHOT THE 24'S, AND I WAS HALFWAY BTWN RWY 25R AND 24L. THE TWR AND MY CAPT SAID NOTHING ABOUT THE ERROR. I THEN ASKED MY CAPT IF WE WERE CLRED TO LAND ON 25R INSTEAD OF 24R. MY CAPT SAID WE WERE CLRED TO LAND ON 25R. I SAID TO CONFIRM THAT. MY CAPT CALLED THE TWR AND THE CTLR CLRED US TO LAND ON 24R. I THEN MOVED THE ACFT OVER TO THE RIGHT AND LANDED ON 24R. THERE WAS NO TFC CONFLICT AND THE TWR SAID NOTHING MORE ABOUT THE EVENT. AFTER WE LANDED, I ASKED MY CAPT IF HE THOUGHT WE WERE CLRED TO LAND ON 25R. HE SAID THAT HE THOUGHT WE WERE LINED UP FOR 24R, AND WHEN I ASKED HIM IF WE WERE CLRED TO LAND, HE THEN SAW I WAS LINED UP FOR 24R, AND THOUGHT WE HAD BEEN ASSIGNED 25R TO LAND ON. ON VIS APCHS, IT IS NOT UNUSUAL TO BE ASSIGNED TO LAND ON 24 RWYS AND SWITCHED TO LAND ON THE 25 RWYS. THE CORRECTIVE ACTION WE TOOK WAS TO CONFIRM WITH THE TWR THE CORRECT ASSIGNED RWY.
