Narrative:

On a visual approach backed up with the GPS RNAV. ATC advised rain shower in the vicinity of the approach so planned to turn towards a GPS fix and cleared for the visual approach. From 5000 ft. Abeam the airport we configured flap 20 on an approximate heading of 347; slowly starting to descend to 4000 ft. At a rate of 300 to 400 ft. Per minute. The GPWS alerted for about 3 seconds. We complied with the GPWS and then cleared it.
