Narrative:
The aircraft suffered an engine failure during cruise flight. The pilot secured the engine; advised ATC; and diverted to the nearest airfield. With adverse wind conditions the pilot elected to go around on final. The aircraft would not climb or accelerate. To avoid an off airport crash; the pilot reduced power to idle and landed gear up on the remaining runway. The aircraft came to rest at the departure end of the runway. The event did not result in any injuries and there was no evidence of substantial damage.
