Narrative:
Pilot asked to stay at 6000 ft for as long as possible due to heavy fuel. I highlighted the aircraft to remind myself to climb him before the minimum IFR altitude increased from 6000 ft to 7000 ft. He was slow so it took 20 to 49 minutes and I forgot. Data block flashed MSAW (minimum safe altitude warning) and I climbed him. I should have made another indication on my scope besides the highlight; like kept the mia map up or alter his data block.
