Narrative:

Retractable gear aircraft. Contact ground with gear up (propeller). In traffic pattern with flight examiner in right seat. On downwind abeam approach end of runway, initiated before landing checklist (including gear down). Failed to rechk gear indicators prior to landing. In the flare over runway propeller began contacting ground. Concluded that gear was not down and proceeded to go around. During climb out did not rest gear lever, but noticed that by then the gear was down. Returned for uneventful landing. Damaged limited to approximately 4.5' of each propeller blade bent back, ILS antenna ground down, and slight scraping of aircraft step. No injuries.

Narrative: RETRACTABLE GEAR ACFT. CONTACT GND WITH GEAR UP (PROP). IN TFC PATTERN WITH FLT EXAMINER IN RIGHT SEAT. ON DOWNWIND ABEAM APCH END OF RWY, INITIATED BEFORE LNDG CHKLIST (INCLUDING GEAR DOWN). FAILED TO RECHK GEAR INDICATORS PRIOR TO LNDG. IN THE FLARE OVER RWY PROP BEGAN CONTACTING GND. CONCLUDED THAT GEAR WAS NOT DOWN AND PROCEEDED TO GO AROUND. DURING CLBOUT DID NOT REST GEAR LEVER, BUT NOTICED THAT BY THEN THE GEAR WAS DOWN. RETURNED FOR UNEVENTFUL LNDG. DAMAGED LIMITED TO APPROX 4.5' OF EACH PROP BLADE BENT BACK, ILS ANTENNA GND DOWN, AND SLIGHT SCRAPING OF ACFT STEP. NO INJURIES.
