Narrative:
On a local flight in the vicinity of an uncontrolled airport, problem arose because I omitted to switch on the radios and announced my departure into a dead microphone, and I didn't see an aircraft on final approach. After taking off, I looked up and saw an aircraft above me going around. In retrospect, I should have been sure to listen on CTAF before departure. Also, I was not careful enough in looking for traffic on final.
