Narrative:

I was the radar specialist working small transport X at 14000 and small transport Y at 13000. I also had 4 or 5 additional aircraft on the scope. I descended small transport X to cross gnv VORTAC at 12000 and continued to perform other duties. Small transport X reported out of 14000 and the conflict alert feature started flashing about 55 seconds later. I immediately turned both aircraft to 270 heading and 090 degree heading and lost separation. I believe this error was caused by human error that will never be completely eliminated. The conflict alert feature, in this case, was very helpful.
