Narrative:
I fly for a part 135 commuter airline. Our flight schedule pushes us (pilots) to the edge of flight time limitation. A schedule I was flying had 7.9 hours of scheduled flight time, which included 9 legs. Due to WX and ATC delays, I had flown 7.9 hours of actual flight time after flying only 7 legs. With 2 more legs to go on my schedule, 1 leg scheduled for 0.8 and the other for 0.3, I questioned if I could continue. Dispatch was unable to help with the understanding of the regulation (135.265) and unable to contact the chief pilot, because it was the wkend. I reviewed far 135.265B and both my copilot and I had the understanding that we were legal to continue and finish our schedule, as long as we had our proper rest per 135.265. Our total for the day was 9.5 hours of actual flight time. I think that this regulation is unclr and I think that it should be reviewed and written in a more cut and dry statement so not to leave as much question to its meaning as it does now. Talking to other pilots I have yet to find anyone who is sure of its meaning.

Narrative: I FLY FOR A PART 135 COMMUTER AIRLINE. OUR FLT SCHEDULE PUSHES US (PLTS) TO THE EDGE OF FLT TIME LIMITATION. A SCHEDULE I WAS FLYING HAD 7.9 HRS OF SCHEDULED FLT TIME, WHICH INCLUDED 9 LEGS. DUE TO WX AND ATC DELAYS, I HAD FLOWN 7.9 HRS OF ACTUAL FLT TIME AFTER FLYING ONLY 7 LEGS. DISPATCH WAS UNABLE TO HELP WITH THE UNDERSTANDING OF THE REG (135.265) AND UNABLE TO CONTACT THE CHIEF PLT, BECAUSE IT WAS THE WKEND. I REVIEWED FAR 135.265B AND BOTH MY COPLT AND I HAD THE UNDERSTANDING THAT WE WERE LEGAL TO CONTINUE AND FINISH OUR SCHEDULE, AS LONG AS WE HAD OUR PROPER REST PER 135.265. OUR TOTAL FOR THE DAY WAS 9.5 HRS OF ACTUAL FLT TIME. I THINK THAT THIS REG IS UNCLR AND I THINK THAT IT SHOULD BE REVIEWED AND WRITTEN IN A MORE CUT AND DRY STATEMENT SO NOT TO LEAVE AS MUCH QUESTION TO ITS MEANING AS IT DOES NOW.
