Narrative:
Cleared by tower for the option, runway 25R. Performed normal landing checklists, touched down on the #south. Applied throttle for touch and go, reset elevator trim and reached for flap retract switch. Pure stupidity on my part--hit gear switch instead. Gear retracted, slid on belly. No injuries, very light damage to aircraft, as partially extended gears supported the fuselage. I've done the exact same touch and go procedure probably 100 times in the 4 1/2 yrs I've owned this small aircraft. Just goes to show that attention to details should never be relaxed! Ps: on this small aircraft, flap and gear switches are the old 'piano key' style and are identical. After this occurrence, I think I'll have the switches modified to look and feel different; but still, diligence is the best defense.

Title: PLT DOING TOUCH AND GO'S RETRACTS GEAR INSTEAD OF FLAPS ON LNDG ROLL.
Narrative: CLRED BY TWR FOR THE OPTION, RWY 25R. PERFORMED NORMAL LNDG CHKLISTS, TOUCHED DOWN ON THE #S. APPLIED THROTTLE FOR TOUCH AND GO, RESET ELEVATOR TRIM AND REACHED FOR FLAP RETRACT SWITCH. PURE STUPIDITY ON MY PART--HIT GEAR SWITCH INSTEAD. GEAR RETRACTED, SLID ON BELLY. NO INJURIES, VERY LIGHT DAMAGE TO ACFT, AS PARTIALLY EXTENDED GEARS SUPPORTED THE FUSELAGE. I'VE DONE THE EXACT SAME TOUCH AND GO PROC PROBABLY 100 TIMES IN THE 4 1/2 YRS I'VE OWNED THIS SMA. JUST GOES TO SHOW THAT ATTN TO DETAILS SHOULD NEVER BE RELAXED! PS: ON THIS SMA, FLAP AND GEAR SWITCHES ARE THE OLD 'PIANO KEY' STYLE AND ARE IDENTICAL. AFTER THIS OCCURRENCE, I THINK I'LL HAVE THE SWITCHES MODIFIED TO LOOK AND FEEL DIFFERENT; BUT STILL, DILIGENCE IS THE BEST DEFENSE.
