Narrative:
During climb out on a 2 plane photo flight my wingman reported oil vapor coming from under the aircraft. Check of instruments showed loss of oil pressure and a chip detector light. Turned aircraft back toward field and shortly thereafter the engine failed. Landing was made on park service land approximately 1.2 mi north of jackson hole airport. There were no injuries or damage to property other than the aircraft. Landing was gear up in a sage brush covered area. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: reporter states he has not torn down the engine yet, but feels there is massive internal failure which caused oil pump failure and engine shut down. Very expensive landing but no one injured. Reporter on unicom when he turned around and informed in the blind of situation. Wingman continued announcing situation when aircraft went down.
