Narrative:

During takeoff roll I felt a very strong shudder just as we felt we would lift off. It got very bad and shook whole aircraft. The captain then aborted the takeoff and hit the brakes. It took quite a while for aircraft to stop. We worried we wouldn't stop before end of runway but we did. The captain announced to 'remain seated'. The fire trucks arrived immediately. Captain sent first officer and so out to see gear through aft entry door and had passenger remain seated. When they knew what had happened (blown tire and all main gear tires flat) they called for buses for passenger to deplane. Fire fighters were flaming gear tires and supervising deplanement onto busses. Throughout the incident all passenger were calm and captain kept everyone well-informed. The crew did an excellent job coordinating and assisting and calming passenger.
