Narrative:
Upon setting parking brakes at arrival gate, right engine was shutdown. Left engine was left running awaiting APU spool up. Attention was diverted by exiting passenger and subsequently when first officer read challenge and response checklist, captain answered that both engines were cut off without verifying fuel lever position and engine gauges. Both pilots left airplane to find left engine still running.

Title: FLC EXITED THE ACFT WITH THE L ENG STILL RUNNING.
Narrative: UPON SETTING PARKING BRAKES AT ARR GATE, R ENG WAS SHUTDOWN. L ENG WAS LEFT RUNNING AWAITING APU SPOOL UP. ATTN WAS DIVERTED BY EXITING PAX AND SUBSEQUENTLY WHEN FO READ CHALLENGE AND RESPONSE CHKLIST, CAPT ANSWERED THAT BOTH ENGS WERE CUT OFF WITHOUT VERIFYING FUEL LEVER POS AND ENG GAUGES. BOTH PLTS LEFT AIRPLANE TO FIND L ENG STILL RUNNING.
