Narrative:
On boids 1 arrival into dfw, 5 mi west of arina intersection TCASII called 'traffic' on an RA alert. It then called for a 'climb' and we climbed to 11800 ft on the altimeter according to a 1500-2000 FPM rate indicated on the vertical speed indicator. When TCASII voiced 'clear of conflict' we descended back to 11000 ft which was our assigned altitude. Traffic was acquired visually at the apex of the climb.
