Narrative:

Approaching bnn VOR on arrival for lhr (heathrow) was given a frequency change by london control to london approach. Approach frequency was unreadable and had to return to london control for new frequency. Contacted approach on new frequency and told to return to bnn and depart on heading of 120 degree. Had frequency change been given sooner, then in case of bad frequency, aircraft would not have to return to a fix and would not be left at the end of an arrival route without controller contact.
