Narrative:
Cleared to intercept localizer runway 35R at dfw, coupled approach all 3 autoplts operating, localizer capture enunciated on both captain and first officer CRT, localizer centered on standby horizontal ILS raw data, cleared to land #3. ATC reported us left of center and interfering with approachs to runway 36, crew crosschecked captain in missed approach, first officer in ILS, standby horizontal raw data. Reported we showed on centerline. Given vector to position right of localizer to reintercept then changed mind, vectored us out to downwind to reintercept. On reintercept, no radio had been returned and all was as on first approach, on localizer and approach facility confirmed position. Approach thereafter normal. Flew aircraft on another leg with approach in visual conditions, on ILS, coupled, to 200 ft AGL, navs and autoplts check absolutely perfect, land 3, flare and rollout annunciator active. Approach to den observed by 3 other crew members who confirmed conditions shown in aircraft on initial approach to den. I suspect from vectoring activity on approach that we were closing on aircraft in front of us and controller dumped on us to cover his butt. Discontinue parallel approachs with multiple aircraft on localizer to runway, airspace saturated with poorly designed airport and marginal ATC environment.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: ACR LGT IS RPTED OFF LOC INTERFERING WITH OTHER ACFT ON APCH TO PARALLEL RWY.
Narrative: CLRED TO INTERCEPT LOC RWY 35R AT DFW, COUPLED APCH ALL 3 AUTOPLTS OPERATING, LOC CAPTURE ENUNCIATED ON BOTH CAPT AND FO CRT, LOC CENTERED ON STANDBY HORIZ ILS RAW DATA, CLRED TO LAND #3. ATC RPTED US L OF CENTER AND INTERFERING WITH APCHS TO RWY 36, CREW XCHKED CAPT IN MISSED APCH, FO IN ILS, STANDBY HORIZ RAW DATA. RPTED WE SHOWED ON CENTERLINE. GIVEN VECTOR TO POS R OF LOC TO REINTERCEPT THEN CHANGED MIND, VECTORED US OUT TO DOWNWIND TO REINTERCEPT. ON REINTERCEPT, NO RADIO HAD BEEN RETURNED AND ALL WAS AS ON FIRST APCH, ON LOC AND APCH FACILITY CONFIRMED POS. APCH THEREAFTER NORMAL. FLEW ACFT ON ANOTHER LEG WITH APCH IN VISUAL CONDITIONS, ON ILS, COUPLED, TO 200 FT AGL, NAVS AND AUTOPLTS CHK ABSOLUTELY PERFECT, LAND 3, FLARE AND ROLLOUT ANNUNCIATOR ACTIVE. APCH TO DEN OBSERVED BY 3 OTHER CREW MEMBERS WHO CONFIRMED CONDITIONS SHOWN IN ACFT ON INITIAL APCH TO DEN. I SUSPECT FROM VECTORING ACTIVITY ON APCH THAT WE WERE CLOSING ON ACFT IN FRONT OF US AND CTLR DUMPED ON US TO COVER HIS BUTT. DISCONTINUE PARALLEL APCHS WITH MULTIPLE ACFT ON LOC TO RWY, AIRSPACE SATURATED WITH POORLY DESIGNED ARPT AND MARGINAL ATC ENVIRONMENT.
