Narrative:
En route from mobley, mo, on IFR flight plan in VMC, being vectored by denver approach from arrival north of den airport. Final vector given to heading of approximately 260 degree and cleared for ILS 29R. Approach never cleared me off frequency and/or to change to bjc tower frequency. At approximately 1 1/2 NM on final for 29R (bjc) I contacted tower since denver approach apparently forgot about me. When I checked in with bjc tower, the controller cleared me to land and then proceeded to lecture me to contact tower sooner. I informed the controller that I was on vectors from den approach and their concerns should be directed there since I was on an IFR and complying with those instructions given to me.

Title: PLT OF SMA LNDG AT BJC FELT TWR CTLR CENSOR BECAUSE OF LATE CHK IN WITH TWR WAS UNCALLED FOR.
Narrative: ENRTE FROM MOBLEY, MO, ON IFR FLT PLAN IN VMC, BEING VECTORED BY DENVER APCH FROM ARR N OF DEN ARPT. FINAL VECTOR GIVEN TO HDG OF APPROX 260 DEG AND CLRED FOR ILS 29R. APCH NEVER CLRED ME OFF FREQ AND/OR TO CHANGE TO BJC TWR FREQ. AT APPROX 1 1/2 NM ON FINAL FOR 29R (BJC) I CONTACTED TWR SINCE DENVER APCH APPARENTLY FORGOT ABOUT ME. WHEN I CHKED IN WITH BJC TWR, THE CTLR CLRED ME TO LAND AND THEN PROCEEDED TO LECTURE ME TO CONTACT TWR SOONER. I INFORMED THE CTLR THAT I WAS ON VECTORS FROM DEN APCH AND THEIR CONCERNS SHOULD BE DIRECTED THERE SINCE I WAS ON AN IFR AND COMPLYING WITH THOSE INSTRUCTIONS GIVEN TO ME.
