Narrative:
Flight was en route to stl from rsw and had descended from FL350 to FL330 due to turbulence and was standing by for further clearance to FL310. First officer was flying the aircraft and captain was handling the radio. A clearance to FL310 was received and acknowledged by the captain. The aircraft had started descent when another aircraft with a similar call sign asked memphis center who the clearance to FL310 had been for. Memphis replied that it had been for the inquiring aircraft and that my flight was to maintain FL330. By this time we had descended approximately 300 ft to FL327. We climbed back to FL330 and continued to stl uneventfully. I, and the other 2 crew members, all feel that we heard our call sign used when receiving the clearance to FL310. When we read back the clearance memphis center did not issue any clarification at that time.
