Narrative:

The altimeter setting at bos, the point of departure, was a very low 29.52. On climb out to FL350 there were many distrs as well as having a first officer who had been on reserve and only flown 2 trips since jun/xx/91. Due to the numerous distrs 29.92 was not set at FL180 causing the aircraft to level off approximately 400 ft high. Center brought this to our attention. We set 29.92 and leveled at 350 without further incident. This incident was caused by distrs causing a breakdown in the 180 checklist. Supplemental information from acn 191469: contributing factors included distrs during the climb from a conversation with the lead flight attendant concerning the scheduling of the captain's address to the passenger, the short flight time and the difficulty expected in completing the movie during the flight.
