Narrative:
We were level at 11000 ft on the arrival to dfw approaching pivot intersection. TCASII suddenly gave a TA advisory and we looked for the corresponding traffic outside as well as the TCASII. A few seconds later we received a TCASII RA advisory to climb 2000 FPM. The first officer responding to the RA began the climb as per TCASII instruction and I simultaneously called ATC and told of our TCASII RA and that we were climbing. We climbed 300 ft when TCASII gave a stop climb advisory and then clear of conflict. We then advised ATC and then returned to our assigned altitude. To our knowledge there was no conflict and ATC advised that we had proper separation and no conflict. We suspect the corresponding aircraft had a high rate of climb and TCASII picked up on it to give us a TA and RA without knowing it would level off 1000 ft lower than out altitude.

Title: FLC OF LGT AT 11000 FT ON APCH TO DFW HAD TCASII RA. CLBED 300 FT TO CLR. TFC NOT SIGHTED HAD LEVELED 1000 FT BELOW.
Narrative: WE WERE LEVEL AT 11000 FT ON THE ARR TO DFW APCHING PIVOT INTXN. TCASII SUDDENLY GAVE A TA ADVISORY AND WE LOOKED FOR THE CORRESPONDING TFC OUTSIDE AS WELL AS THE TCASII. A FEW SECONDS LATER WE RECEIVED A TCASII RA ADVISORY TO CLB 2000 FPM. THE FO RESPONDING TO THE RA BEGAN THE CLB AS PER TCASII INSTRUCTION AND I SIMULTANEOUSLY CALLED ATC AND TOLD OF OUR TCASII RA AND THAT WE WERE CLBING. WE CLBED 300 FT WHEN TCASII GAVE A STOP CLB ADVISORY AND THEN CLR OF CONFLICT. WE THEN ADVISED ATC AND THEN RETURNED TO OUR ASSIGNED ALT. TO OUR KNOWLEDGE THERE WAS NO CONFLICT AND ATC ADVISED THAT WE HAD PROPER SEPARATION AND NO CONFLICT. WE SUSPECT THE CORRESPONDING ACFT HAD A HIGH RATE OF CLB AND TCASII PICKED UP ON IT TO GIVE US A TA AND RA WITHOUT KNOWING IT WOULD LEVEL OFF 1000 FT LOWER THAN OUT ALT.
