Narrative:
During takeoff roll, tower transmits my call sign followed by 'uh', then 'turn right heading..., stop the climb at 3000' then a pause and followed by a different call sign with heading and altitude instructions. His transmission is without a 'microphone break' (there is continuous carrier audible). After my call sign and the 'uh' I was concerned for my operation and when we were safely airborne, I confirmed that he was not calling me. Controllers should not be calling aircraft during landing or on takeoff roll unless in an emergency. As mad as I am at the controller, I am also mad at myself. Perhaps I should have aborted.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: CORPORATE ACFT ON TKOF ROLL HAS CONFUSING TWR INSTRUCTIONS, WRONG CALL SIGN USE.
Narrative: DURING TKOF ROLL, TWR XMITS MY CALL SIGN FOLLOWED BY 'UH', THEN 'TURN R HDG..., STOP THE CLB AT 3000' THEN A PAUSE AND FOLLOWED BY A DIFFERENT CALL SIGN WITH HDG AND ALT INSTRUCTIONS. HIS XMISSION IS WITHOUT A 'MICROPHONE BREAK' (THERE IS CONTINUOUS CARRIER AUDIBLE). AFTER MY CALL SIGN AND THE 'UH' I WAS CONCERNED FOR MY OP AND WHEN WE WERE SAFELY AIRBORNE, I CONFIRMED THAT HE WAS NOT CALLING ME. CTLRS SHOULD NOT BE CALLING ACFT DURING LNDG OR ON TKOF ROLL UNLESS IN AN EMER. AS MAD AS I AM AT THE CTLR, I AM ALSO MAD AT MYSELF. PERHAPS I SHOULD HAVE ABORTED.
