Narrative:
Flight heard on radio to descend to 6000 ft from 8000 ft. Replied and did not hear anything else until was told near miss by ATC. ATC also claims to have told us not to descend after our response, we did not hear this. Radio communication breakdown cause: noticed later on another flight that #1 communication radio faded in and out.

Title: LTSS COMMUTER LTT AND UNKNOWN TFC DURING DSCNT INTO DFW.
Narrative: FLT HEARD ON RADIO TO DSND TO 6000 FT FROM 8000 FT. REPLIED AND DID NOT HEAR ANYTHING ELSE UNTIL WAS TOLD NEAR MISS BY ATC. ATC ALSO CLAIMS TO HAVE TOLD US NOT TO DSND AFTER OUR RESPONSE, WE DID NOT HEAR THIS. RADIO COM BREAKDOWN CAUSE: NOTICED LATER ON ANOTHER FLT THAT #1 COM RADIO FADED IN AND OUT.
