Narrative:
Air carrier X was cleared to land on runway 9R at mia. Was told by tower to roll to the end for easy access to my gate. As I slowed I was taxiing on the runway looking for the last taxiway -- the tower cleared another aircraft for takeoff while I was still on the runway! Concerned, I tried to clear, and then realized we had gone by the last intersection, I had to make a 180 on the runway and then get off at that time the other aircraft was taking off on top of us. Fortunately there was no conflict. By the way, we had an FAA quality assurance specialist on our jump seat and could not believe this controller cleared another aircraft for takeoff while we were still on the runway. There was light rain at the time, visibility was coming down. Also advised tower we had gone by last taxiway and were making a 180 to get off and exit.
