Narrative:

Lawrence has an increasing risk to aircraft due to sea gulls. The population of birds has increased 10 times that of previous yrs. I have been flying out of lwm for 17 yrs. During approach on 11/xx/91, the ATIS made no mention of birds on the runway. When I broke out at 350 ft AGL, approximately 150 birds lifted off the mid field and approach end of the runway. The safest path was to land as the birds were at 50- 100 ft and climbing as I approached. Several birds crossed my path on roll out but no bird strikes occurred. I believe ATIS should make pilots aware of birds and action as necessary to eliminate the bird problem by the airport management.
