Narrative:
Night maintenance had replaced the left main brake assembly, and it is not unusual for a new brake on an medium large transport to smoke during the first few brake applications even with light to moderate braking. Landed on runway 23 at orf. As we turned off onto the taxiway the tower reported smoke from our left main gear and a moment later we were ordered to stop, and informed that the fire and rescue vehicles had been dispatched to us. After they arrived and it appeared that no flames were present, we asked if we could continue taxiing to the gate. We would use only the right brake, allow more cooling air to the left brake, and be able to safely disembark our passenger. Permission was granted and this plan was implemented without incident. The fire and rescue crew stood by while company maintenance inspected the left main gear. A fire and rescue crew member arrived in our cockpit with a clip board and asked for my name and other relevant information. We explained about the new brake on the left gear. At this point the prudent and professional coordination of all involved took a 'quantum leap' into ludicrous. A flight attendant informed me that a fire and rescue crew member (in full fire-fighting outfit), had rudely interfered with the deplaning passenger in a rush to get in the cockpit because my name and address was needed for their report. I had given them this information, but shortly thereafter, the captain of the fire and rescue crew approached me and stated that they needed my residential address, not my business address. I explained that I had never heard of such a requirement and would like to check with my supervisor. I was informed that I was holding up the entire fire and rescue unit from much more important matters. While I was on the telephone, attempting to acquire some professional advice, 2 armed police officers arrived and soon began to badger me with what I can only describe as 'gestapo tactics.' I was threatened with interfering in an ongoing emergency, interfering in a very serious investigation, uncooperative and disrespectful behavior to a police office, etc. Needless to say, I gave them the information because I had an aircraft full of passenger and crew members I was responsible for getting home on time. I might add that I feared these gunmen because airline pilots don't carry one! Had a properly idented FAA inspector asked for my residential address I would not have hesitated to give it to them, it's no secret, it's on file in oklahoma city anyway. I have never seen a regulation stating that this information is so vital to the fire and rescue crew that the entire unit must stand by, while armed intervention is implemented to extract it.

Title: AFTER FIRE AND RESCUE HAD ARRIVED TO CTL SMOKE FROM L BRAKE, ASKED CAPT FOR HIS HOME ADDRESS WHICH HE REFUSED UNTIL PRESSURED BY POLICE.
Narrative: NIGHT MAINT HAD REPLACED THE L MAIN BRAKE ASSEMBLY, AND IT IS NOT UNUSUAL FOR A NEW BRAKE ON AN MLG TO SMOKE DURING THE FIRST FEW BRAKE APPLICATIONS EVEN WITH LIGHT TO MODERATE BRAKING. LANDED ON RWY 23 AT ORF. AS WE TURNED OFF ONTO THE TAXIWAY THE TWR RPTED SMOKE FROM OUR L MAIN GEAR AND A MOMENT LATER WE WERE ORDERED TO STOP, AND INFORMED THAT THE FIRE AND RESCUE VEHICLES HAD BEEN DISPATCHED TO US. AFTER THEY ARRIVED AND IT APPEARED THAT NO FLAMES WERE PRESENT, WE ASKED IF WE COULD CONTINUE TAXIING TO THE GATE. WE WOULD USE ONLY THE R BRAKE, ALLOW MORE COOLING AIR TO THE L BRAKE, AND BE ABLE TO SAFELY DISEMBARK OUR PAX. PERMISSION WAS GRANTED AND THIS PLAN WAS IMPLEMENTED WITHOUT INCIDENT. THE FIRE AND RESCUE CREW STOOD BY WHILE COMPANY MAINT INSPECTED THE L MAIN GEAR. A FIRE AND RESCUE CREW MEMBER ARRIVED IN OUR COCKPIT WITH A CLIP BOARD AND ASKED FOR MY NAME AND OTHER RELEVANT INFO. WE EXPLAINED ABOUT THE NEW BRAKE ON THE L GEAR. AT THIS POINT THE PRUDENT AND PROFESSIONAL COORD OF ALL INVOLVED TOOK A 'QUANTUM LEAP' INTO LUDICROUS. A FLT ATTENDANT INFORMED ME THAT A FIRE AND RESCUE CREW MEMBER (IN FULL FIRE-FIGHTING OUTFIT), HAD RUDELY INTERFERED WITH THE DEPLANING PAX IN A RUSH TO GET IN THE COCKPIT BECAUSE MY NAME AND ADDRESS WAS NEEDED FOR THEIR RPT. I HAD GIVEN THEM THIS INFO, BUT SHORTLY THEREAFTER, THE CAPT OF THE FIRE AND RESCUE CREW APCHED ME AND STATED THAT THEY NEEDED MY RESIDENTIAL ADDRESS, NOT MY BUSINESS ADDRESS. I EXPLAINED THAT I HAD NEVER HEARD OF SUCH A REQUIREMENT AND WOULD LIKE TO CHK WITH MY SUPVR. I WAS INFORMED THAT I WAS HOLDING UP THE ENTIRE FIRE AND RESCUE UNIT FROM MUCH MORE IMPORTANT MATTERS. WHILE I WAS ON THE TELEPHONE, ATTEMPTING TO ACQUIRE SOME PROFESSIONAL ADVICE, 2 ARMED POLICE OFFICERS ARRIVED AND SOON BEGAN TO BADGER ME WITH WHAT I CAN ONLY DESCRIBE AS 'GESTAPO TACTICS.' I WAS THREATENED WITH INTERFERING IN AN ONGOING EMER, INTERFERING IN A VERY SERIOUS INVESTIGATION, UNCOOPERATIVE AND DISRESPECTFUL BEHAVIOR TO A POLICE OFFICE, ETC. NEEDLESS TO SAY, I GAVE THEM THE INFO BECAUSE I HAD AN ACFT FULL OF PAX AND CREW MEMBERS I WAS RESPONSIBLE FOR GETTING HOME ON TIME. I MIGHT ADD THAT I FEARED THESE GUNMEN BECAUSE AIRLINE PLTS DON'T CARRY ONE! HAD A PROPERLY IDENTED FAA INSPECTOR ASKED FOR MY RESIDENTIAL ADDRESS I WOULD NOT HAVE HESITATED TO GIVE IT TO THEM, IT'S NO SECRET, IT'S ON FILE IN OKLAHOMA CITY ANYWAY. I HAVE NEVER SEEN A REG STATING THAT THIS INFO IS SO VITAL TO THE FIRE AND RESCUE CREW THAT THE ENTIRE UNIT MUST STAND BY, WHILE ARMED INTERVENTION IS IMPLEMENTED TO EXTRACT IT.
