Narrative:
Line service in honolulu forgot to fuel aircraft. We had a cockpit observer who was riding with us to familiarize himself with aircraft/procedures prior to initial training in aircraft. He read before start checklist to captain, and somehow none of us caught the lack of fuel. En route, captain initiated a fuel xfeed to balance level in main tanks. I looked at quantity then, as is my habit anytime fuel xfeed takes place, and saw a much lower level than usual and brought it to captain's attention. We watched to see if there was a leak of any kind, but ruled that out and realized that we were not fueled in honolulu. We considered diverting to maui, but at that point we were at about the equal time point between the 2 airports and continued to kona. We landed with about 4000 pounds. We were distraction by trying to show the observer what we were checking, so much so that we did not really check what we looked at. We also have a new before start checklist and the captain was reading the answers from his checklist in an effort to familiarize himself with the new responses. In a situation like this, I should have been more vigilant to doublechk those items since my captain's attention was not fully on looking at the item to be checked.

Narrative: LINE SVC IN HONOLULU FORGOT TO FUEL ACFT. WE HAD A COCKPIT OBSERVER WHO WAS RIDING WITH US TO FAMILIARIZE HIMSELF WITH ACFT/PROCS PRIOR TO INITIAL TRAINING IN ACFT. HE READ BEFORE START CHKLIST TO CAPT, AND SOMEHOW NONE OF US CAUGHT THE LACK OF FUEL. ENRTE, CAPT INITIATED A FUEL XFEED TO BAL LEVEL IN MAIN TANKS. I LOOKED AT QUANTITY THEN, AS IS MY HABIT ANYTIME FUEL XFEED TAKES PLACE, AND SAW A MUCH LOWER LEVEL THAN USUAL AND BROUGHT IT TO CAPT'S ATTN. WE WATCHED TO SEE IF THERE WAS A LEAK OF ANY KIND, BUT RULED THAT OUT AND REALIZED THAT WE WERE NOT FUELED IN HONOLULU. WE CONSIDERED DIVERTING TO MAUI, BUT AT THAT POINT WE WERE AT ABOUT THE EQUAL TIME POINT BTWN THE 2 ARPTS AND CONTINUED TO KONA. WE LANDED WITH ABOUT 4000 POUNDS. WE WERE DISTR BY TRYING TO SHOW THE OBSERVER WHAT WE WERE CHKING, SO MUCH SO THAT WE DID NOT REALLY CHK WHAT WE LOOKED AT. WE ALSO HAVE A NEW BEFORE START CHKLIST AND THE CAPT WAS READING THE ANSWERS FROM HIS CHKLIST IN AN EFFORT TO FAMILIARIZE HIMSELF WITH THE NEW RESPONSES. IN A SITUATION LIKE THIS, I SHOULD HAVE BEEN MORE VIGILANT TO DOUBLECHK THOSE ITEMS SINCE MY CAPT'S ATTN WAS NOT FULLY ON LOOKING AT THE ITEM TO BE CHKED.
