Upon aircraft rotation, forward baggage door opened. Returned to field, secured door, normal operations. Flight crew must always, always, always doublechk to confirm baggage doors are secured closed, no matter how rushed, before taxi. Ramp crew and door warning lights cannot be trusted -- as proved by our incident.

Narrative: UPON ACFT ROTATION, FORWARD BAGGAGE DOOR OPENED. RETURNED TO FIELD, SECURED DOOR, NORMAL OPS. FLC MUST ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS DOUBLECHK TO CONFIRM BAGGAGE DOORS ARE SECURED CLOSED, NO MATTER HOW RUSHED, BEFORE TAXI. RAMP CREW AND DOOR WARNING LIGHTS CANNOT BE TRUSTED -- AS PROVED BY OUR INCIDENT.
