Narrative:
Small aircraft was released to owner 12/xx/91 after prolonged maintenance period for air frame modifications and major overhaul of pwrplant. Takeoff after normal runup at W00 plus 3 hours at cruise (greater than 80 percent per overhauler recommendations) was uneventful. Entered right pattern for 32 at gai in landing confign at approximately 2000 FPM. Initiated descent at numbers abeam on downwind. Power failure at 1800- 1500 RPM. Unable to restart. Cleaned up and turned toward runway, advising intentions on unicom. Deployed gear immediately prior to hard landing on edge of runway. Damage to aircraft cosmetic -- gear doors, skin damage right wingtip/aileron, pilot with minor contusions. Subsequent engine inspection revealed faulty (new) seal in injector servo. Aircraft under repair at time of this report. I was owner/pilot on this flight.
