Narrative:
I had completed a VFR flight from western ny to fcm in the minneapolis TCA when I was told to contact center which had me contact chicago center. I spoke with mr X of chicago TRACON. He was very pleasant and professional in nature. For navigation I was using a world aeronautical chart (WAC) effective nov/xx/91. The chart was #CF18. I was told that when I went through the chicago area I had violated the TCA since I was flying at 8500 ft and the TCA went up to 10000 ft. I explained that the chart I was using and was only 35 days past the effective data and still current showed the ceiling of the TCA to be 7000 ft. Mr X told me that the purpose of the call was for information purposes only and he was surprised that the chart would be wrong since the TCA had been expanded in may of 1991. This correction should be made on this government chart.
