Narrative:
On approach into dpa, I lost communication with ATC. The communication loss occurred for 4 mins. The loss was the result of the 'headphones-off-speaker switch' being pushed to the 'off' by accident. I apologized to ATC and landed without incident. Bad design? Either have the switch on 'speaker' or 'headphones', but do not have an off position.
