Narrative:
Problem -- flight crew uninformed of change of tower frequency at ase. Current sectionals in hand with wrong frequency, no NOTAMS given by denver flight service. Both duat and den FSS used for briefing. Discovered -- no answer from aspen tower. Corrective actions -- contacted ege FSS for information, who was unreachable even though we were in sight of the ege airport. Suggestions -- better dissemination (via computer) of NOTAMS. Leave printed NOTAMS on computer system. Disseminate local NOTAMS countrywide. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information. Reporter states the change of frequency occurred in nov and had probably been removed from FSS computer because it was published by now. Reporter circled back to ege until able to contact FSS. Then with new frequency returned to make landing. Reporter researched procedure for receiving NOTAMS and learned that pilots can request briefer to read published NOTAMS. Duat gave fdc NOTAMS but not local.

Title: SMA PLT ATTEMPTS CONTACT TWR AT DEST. FREQ HAS BEEN CHANGED BUT NOT YET ON SECTIONAL CHART.
Narrative: PROBLEM -- FLC UNINFORMED OF CHANGE OF TWR FREQ AT ASE. CURRENT SECTIONALS IN HAND WITH WRONG FREQ, NO NOTAMS GIVEN BY DENVER FLT SVC. BOTH DUAT AND DEN FSS USED FOR BRIEFING. DISCOVERED -- NO ANSWER FROM ASPEN TWR. CORRECTIVE ACTIONS -- CONTACTED EGE FSS FOR INFO, WHO WAS UNREACHABLE EVEN THOUGH WE WERE IN SIGHT OF THE EGE ARPT. SUGGESTIONS -- BETTER DISSEMINATION (VIA COMPUTER) OF NOTAMS. LEAVE PRINTED NOTAMS ON COMPUTER SYS. DISSEMINATE LCL NOTAMS COUNTRYWIDE. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO. RPTR STATES THE CHANGE OF FREQ OCCURRED IN NOV AND HAD PROBABLY BEEN REMOVED FROM FSS COMPUTER BECAUSE IT WAS PUBLISHED BY NOW. RPTR CIRCLED BACK TO EGE UNTIL ABLE TO CONTACT FSS. THEN WITH NEW FREQ RETURNED TO MAKE LNDG. RPTR RESEARCHED PROC FOR RECEIVING NOTAMS AND LEARNED THAT PLTS CAN REQUEST BRIEFER TO READ PUBLISHED NOTAMS. DUAT GAVE FDC NOTAMS BUT NOT LCL.
