Narrative:

As a first officer on flight we were holding short of runway 4L for departure, another aircraft behind us radioed to the tower that our potable water door was open. The tower asked us if we copied the report, and we acknowledged 'yes'. The captain and I discussed the open water door, that it was located aft of all the engines and all controling surfaces. Also, the door is designed to shut upon air pressure of flight. Return to the gate would far surpass the safety of flight created by the open door, especially in the eyes of the passenger. After discussion, we decided to continue the flight and no adverse safety considerations would be at jeopardy.
