Narrative:

Departed teb, cleared via the teterboro 2 departure. Climbing on a heading of 040 degree to initial a left turn to the paterson NDB. Out of approximately 1000 ft MLS tower turned me over to new york departure. Departure cleared me to 2000 ft and then to 6000 ft, expedite through 4000 ft. Passing through 3000 ft departure advised me to maintain 3000 ft left turn 270 degrees direct paterson and that I had missed the turn on the departure. I immediately pushed over and initiated a turn to 270 degrees but not before reaching 3300 ft. I proceeded to level at 3000 ft and proceed to the paterson NDB as cleared.
