Air Traffic Incident | Pilot Deviation |
Narrative:
I was assigned 11000 ft on blue ridge arrival over baton. Approach control advised me of an air carrier climbing to 10000 ft at 12 O'clock and 4 mi. I acknowledged the traffic and 30 seconds later TCASII issued an RA and advised a climb to resolve conflict. I climbed 500 ft and satisfied the TCASII conflict. I immediately notified approach control of the deviation and the reason for same. Approach control acknowledged the situation and said with 35L departures and blue ridge arrs this traffic conflict is common.

Title: ALTDEV ALT EXCURSION BY ACR LGT AFTER RECEIVING TCASII RA.
Narrative: I WAS ASSIGNED 11000 FT ON BLUE RIDGE ARR OVER BATON. APCH CTL ADVISED ME OF AN AIR CARRIER CLBING TO 10000 FT AT 12 O'CLOCK AND 4 MI. I ACKNOWLEDGED THE TFC AND 30 SECONDS LATER TCASII ISSUED AN RA AND ADVISED A CLB TO RESOLVE CONFLICT. I CLBED 500 FT AND SATISFIED THE TCASII CONFLICT. I IMMEDIATELY NOTIFIED APCH CTL OF THE DEV AND THE REASON FOR SAME. APCH CTL ACKNOWLEDGED THE SITUATION AND SAID WITH 35L DEPS AND BLUE RIDGE ARRS THIS TFC CONFLICT IS COMMON.
