Narrative:

I was captain of flight from pbi-pit on 02-fri-92. In climb at around pm:20 local time. Passing approximately 28000 ft, our cabin pressure failed and we were unable to control it. We accomplished our emergency procedures, declared an emergency, and made an uneventful landing at mco. There were no injuries. My reason for submitting this form are twofold. #1 - to cover myself against an over aggressive FAA. #2 - to suggest that when an emergency is declared, that controllers not bother the crew with immediate unnecessary question like fuel on board and number of souls. Also, when talking mco approach control, we were given intercept to a STAR. Cooperation with a heading direct to the field would be much more helpful as the crew is busy enough attending the emergency. Supplemental information from acn 202533: we gained control of cabin at approximately FL180 and no passenger masks were deployed.
