Narrative:
I was IFR en route from corona (L66) to monterey (mry) along V186 approximately elmoo intersection. We had a vacuum system failure. I then cancelled IFR and made a left hand turn to return to our home base. Burbank approach advised me to squawk VFR and contact ontario approach. During my 180 degree turn and without having gyro indications and strong winds aloft from the northeast. I may have drifted into the los angeles TCA. When I contacted ontario approach I was advised 'turn nebound to clear TCA.' I was operating IFR and had planned to be operating IFR for the entire flight. I did not have any VFR charts aboard. Only current IFR charts. For this reason I could not determine ground reference to determine if I entered TCA.

I DID NOT HAVE ANY VFR CHARTS ABOARD. ONLY CURRENT IFR CHARTS. FOR THIS REASON I COULD NOT DETERMINE GND REF TO DETERMINE IF I ENTERED TCA.
