Narrative:

Taxi instructions were, taxi in inner taxiway from gate xx to victor taxiway and hold short of runway 14. Second clearance; cross runway 14, turn right on taxiway J, left on left to runway 10C. After turning right on J, we discovered taxiway left was closed to heavy aircraft (wide body). When we notified ground control, another controller gave taxi instructions, right on left for takeoff on runway 14. We had to use about 25 yds of taxiway left for access to runway 14.
