Narrative:
Flight X descending into meridian key field on 119.2 meridian approach control. We called key field in sight, approach called out traffic Y 12-1 O'clock eastbound 3500 ft. Meridian approach cleared us to 2000 ft, visual approach runway 01 key field, then said radar service terminated. We asked for vector away from known traffic, approach gave a 270 degree heading (20 degree turn to the right). The flight was cleared for visual to runway 01, descending below 4000 ft, we spotted traffic Y dead ahead, no more than 500 ft below.

Narrative: FLT X DSNDING INTO MERIDIAN KEY FIELD ON 119.2 MERIDIAN APCH CTL. WE CALLED KEY FIELD IN SIGHT, APCH CALLED OUT TFC Y 12-1 O'CLOCK EBOUND 3500 FT. MERIDIAN APCH CLRED US TO 2000 FT, VISUAL APCH RWY 01 KEY FIELD, THEN SAID RADAR SVC TERMINATED. WE ASKED FOR VECTOR AWAY FROM KNOWN TFC, APCH GAVE A 270 DEG HDG (20 DEG TURN TO THE R). THE FLT WAS CLRED FOR VISUAL TO RWY 01, DSNDING BELOW 4000 FT, WE SPOTTED TFC Y DEAD AHEAD, NO MORE THAN 500 FT BELOW.
