Narrative:
Flight was en route from iad to lax. At PM07 Z passenger became unconscious. A properly idented doctor on board used the emergency medical kit to revive the passenger but could not get a stable heart beat or pulse. The flight diverted to mci where the passenger and one traveling companion were transported to a hospital. The medical kit and one used walkaround oxygen bottle were replaced by maintenance personnel at mci. The flight was rereleased by dispatch and refueled. This flight was into mci at PM38 Z and blocked out at PM15 for the continuation to lax. At cruise altitude en route to lax while collecting information about the incident and filling out the captain's report it was noted that the aircraft had landed approximately 3500 pounds over allowable gross weight (275500/272000). Since this had been overlooked by me and not noted (logbook, etc) no over gross landing check had been performed as required. Company maintenance was notified on VHF radio and an over gross landing check was ordered for our arrival at lax. The completed inspection revealed no damage.
