Narrative:
During walkaround white position light was burned out. I informed the captain of the situation. We had 15 mins until departure. Mechanic said it would take 15 mins to fix and seemed very reluctant to work on it. Captain turned to me and said 'it didn't burn out until after we left.' we flew from denver stapleton to jac (jackson, wy) without the position light. Sure, it was minor but it could have been fixed, flying the plane was illegal, and this just showed the captain's cavalier attitude (he did may similar things during 3 days of hell flying with him).
