Narrative:
Recently a los of separation occurred between 2 air carrier jet aircraft. The frequency being used by approach control quit. An operational error occurred before communication could be reestablished. The loss of a radio frequency, at detroit metropolitan, is not an isolated incident. Almost daily, frequency problems arise rendering them useless. Attached is a partial list of frequency problems at detroit metropolitan. 2 unsatisfactory condition reports have been filed.

Title: FREQ OUTAGE OCCURS RESULTING IN LTSS BTWN 2 ACR'S. CTLR CHARGED WITH SYS ERROR.
Narrative: RECENTLY A LOS OF SEPARATION OCCURRED BTWN 2 ACR JET ACFT. THE FREQ BEING USED BY APCH CTL QUIT. AN OPERROR OCCURRED BEFORE COM COULD BE REESTABLISHED. THE LOSS OF A RADIO FREQ, AT DETROIT METRO, IS NOT AN ISOLATED INCIDENT. ALMOST DAILY, FREQ PROBLEMS ARISE RENDERING THEM USELESS. ATTACHED IS A PARTIAL LIST OF FREQ PROBLEMS AT DETROIT METRO. 2 UNSATISFACTORY CONDITION RPTS HAVE BEEN FILED.
