Narrative:
After normal engine start air conditioning packs were turned on. Shortly thereafter dense smoke filled the aft cabin. Packs were turned off and taxied quickly to gate. Passenger deplaned through entry door quickly leaving belongings behind. It turned out that this was the fourth time this has happened to this aircraft. The employees at our company work very hard to get their jobs done, and I think personal goals of trying to get the job done on time for departure clouded maintenance's ability to see that there was a continuing problem and the aircraft needed further maintenance to really find the problem and correct it before the aircraft is returned to revenue service.
