Narrative:
Trainee cleared air carrier X to FL270 from FL330. Air carrier Y climbed to FL310 from FL290 when air carrier turned swbound via route of flight plan. Developmental turned air carrier X left. I took over frequencys turning air carrier Y left 60 degrees. Southwest of rod VORTAC is an area of great complexity in ZID. Transitioning traffic for dtw in and outbounds. Transitioning traffic for cle in and outbounds as well as many en route aircraft in this area make for very complex traffic situations. Lower altitude was not available for air carrier X at first. Traffic at FL330 on left side of air carrier X and climbing traffic on r-hand side kept controller from turning air carrier X until descent from FL330. Working day hi sector ZID with developmental. Sector workload and complexity building fast. Air carrier X at FL330 on frequency with conflict alert blinking with medium large transport in ffo super high altitudes. Air carrier X was given clearance to FL270 and assigned 2000 FPM in the descent through FL280. Air carrier Y sbound at FL290, given clearance to FL310. Air carrier Y turned swbound at rod, conflict alert activated between. Air carrier X and air carrier Y turns were issued lateral separation was lost prior to vertical separation being established.

Title: ACR X HAD LTSS FROM ACR Y. CLB AND DSCNT THROUGH OCCUPIED ALT. SYS ERROR.
Narrative: TRAINEE CLRED ACR X TO FL270 FROM FL330. ACR Y CLBED TO FL310 FROM FL290 WHEN ACR TURNED SWBOUND VIA RTE OF FLT PLAN. DEVELOPMENTAL TURNED ACR X L. I TOOK OVER FREQS TURNING ACR Y L 60 DEGS. SW OF ROD VORTAC IS AN AREA OF GREAT COMPLEXITY IN ZID. TRANSITIONING TFC FOR DTW IN AND OUTBOUNDS. TRANSITIONING TFC FOR CLE IN AND OUTBOUNDS AS WELL AS MANY ENRTE ACFT IN THIS AREA MAKE FOR VERY COMPLEX TFC SITUATIONS. LOWER ALT WAS NOT AVAILABLE FOR ACR X AT FIRST. TFC AT FL330 ON L SIDE OF ACR X AND CLBING TFC ON R-HAND SIDE KEPT CTLR FROM TURNING ACR X UNTIL DSCNT FROM FL330. WORKING DAY HI SECTOR ZID WITH DEVELOPMENTAL. SECTOR WORKLOAD AND COMPLEXITY BUILDING FAST. ACR X AT FL330 ON FREQ WITH CONFLICT ALERT BLINKING WITH MLG IN FFO SUPER HIGH ALTS. ACR X WAS GIVEN CLRNC TO FL270 AND ASSIGNED 2000 FPM IN THE DSCNT THROUGH FL280. ACR Y SBOUND AT FL290, GIVEN CLRNC TO FL310. ACR Y TURNED SWBOUND AT ROD, CONFLICT ALERT ACTIVATED BTWN. ACR X AND ACR Y TURNS WERE ISSUED LATERAL SEPARATION WAS LOST PRIOR TO VERT SEPARATION BEING ESTABLISHED.
