Narrative:
ATC clearance received from ZLC with instruction to hold for release from uncontrolled airport. Flight departed without release clearance. Commuter flight had departed prior to my departure was in sight visually on TCASII system. Center questioned our clearance upon initial contact and was advised that previous departure was in sight. Center controller was questioned if any conflict problem; he advised that there was none.

Title: ACR LGT FLC DEPARTS FCA VFR, WITHOUT IFR RELEASE, USING TCASII FOR SEPARATION FROM TFC THAT DEPARTED AHEAD.
Narrative: ATC CLRNC RECEIVED FROM ZLC WITH INSTRUCTION TO HOLD FOR RELEASE FROM UNCTLED ARPT. FLT DEPARTED WITHOUT RELEASE CLRNC. COMMUTER FLT HAD DEPARTED PRIOR TO MY DEP WAS IN SIGHT VISUALLY ON TCASII SYS. CTR QUESTIONED OUR CLRNC UPON INITIAL CONTACT AND WAS ADVISED THAT PREVIOUS DEP WAS IN SIGHT. CTR CTLR WAS QUESTIONED IF ANY CONFLICT PROBLEM; HE ADVISED THAT THERE WAS NONE.
