Narrative:
Photographer was sitting in the door seat taking photographs, and inadvertently caught the upper door latch with his elbow, coat sleeve or camera strap causing the upper door panel to open which broke away from the hinges causing the door to hit the upper tip of the vertical stabilizer which did minor skin damage. There was no noticeable difference in flight characteristics of the aircraft. The tail damage was not noticed until after landing.

Title: SMT LOSES PART OF PAX DOOR, SLIGHT SKIN DAMAGE TO ACFT.
Narrative: PHOTOGRAPHER WAS SITTING IN THE DOOR SEAT TAKING PHOTOGRAPHS, AND INADVERTENTLY CAUGHT THE UPPER DOOR LATCH WITH HIS ELBOW, COAT SLEEVE OR CAMERA STRAP CAUSING THE UPPER DOOR PANEL TO OPEN WHICH BROKE AWAY FROM THE HINGES CAUSING THE DOOR TO HIT THE UPPER TIP OF THE VERTICAL STABILIZER WHICH DID MINOR SKIN DAMAGE. THERE WAS NO NOTICEABLE DIFFERENCE IN FLT CHARACTERISTICS OF THE ACFT. THE TAIL DAMAGE WAS NOT NOTICED UNTIL AFTER LNDG.
