Narrative:
My cap squadron is based at los alamitos aaf flying gliders. Due national guard use for the problems in los angeles, cargo containers were placed at the approach end of the glider landing strip. On the first flts of the day, the gliders were coming very close to these containers. On my flight I flew to the right of the containers and sideslipped to the landing strip. This meant slipping in the direction of the crosswind. Upon contact with the ground the glider continued to move in the direction of the crosswind. The corrective action taken with rudder, aileron, and brakes did not stop the left wing of the glider from striking a national guard fuel truck parked along-side the landing strip. The accident, which did minor damage to the glider, and strained my passenger's back could have been avoided by not flying until the cargo containers had been removed, or by over-flying the containers and landing long. The crosswind and low-level turbulence caused by the containers made the slipping approach the wrong one.
