Narrative:
Inbound on aqn arrival to dfw the TCASII RA said 'climb' due to outbound traffic at dfw climbing to 10000 ft. We were at 11000 ft, 210 KTS on the aqn 040/30. Followed RA as per operations manual and climbed to 11500 ft before 'clear of conflict.' this maneuver was unnecessary since we had visual contact with traffic. However operations manual states you 'will' follow all RA's. TCASII is a real nuisance during takeoff and landing. TA's are received frequently at both dfw and ord. This loud voice is screaming 'traffic, traffic' altitude alert is announcing 'altitude'. ATC tries to call. The first officer is flying and we are talking to each other for avoidance and compliance. Too much noise during critical phases of flight. These noises and distrs are a safety hazard.
